Say ‘Swiss’ Cheese!

A rare opportunity to watch Swiss animated films curated by Rolf Baechler from Trick & Film & Animation, Zürich. Swiss animation is very diverse with no one distinct style representative of the country. In fact, diversity has been the hallmark of Swiss animation from the outset. Rolf will present animated films by the best known animation directors in Switzerland (including Georges Schwizgebel – one of the most prominent and acclaimed of all Swiss animators, François Chalet, Rolf Brönnimann and Basil Vogt) as well as films by some of his students and his own films.

An Animated Journey with Darcy Prendergast
One of Australia’s best animated minds, Darcy Prendergast will talk about his journey in animation, starting with his early days before he even knew what he was doing and then as his work improved over time. He will show his portfolio and share his experiences – the decisions, risks and jumps that he has taken along the way. This will be followed by a Q&A session.
Darcy Prendergast is the director and founder of OH YEAH WOW, his projects have seen him tour both on home soil and internationally, to some of the biggest animation festivals and forums in the world- such as Annecy and Stuttgart. He was a lead sculptor/ assistant animator on Adam Elliot’s “Mary and Max” and has directed countless award winning music videos, commercials and shorts, one of which was shortlisted for the Guggenheim in 2010. He has lectured at RMIT and NYU in Stop Motion Animation Techniques and has a clay animated kids series, titled ‘The Critter Litter” in development with Nickelodeon under his ‘Oh Yeah Wow’ banner.

After the phenomenal response to the February session of The Making of Robot in Pune, we brought back Sanath and Srini for a fascinating session in Namma Bengaluru!
Srinivas Mohan and Sanath P C take you behind the scenes of Robot.

Sanath PC is the Founder-Director of Firefly Creative Studio Pvt. Ltd. He has been working as a VFX supervisor and director for the last 14 years, and was VFX supervisor for over two dozen south Indian films including national award winning Anji (Telugu 2004) and Magadheera (Telugu 2009). He is a Communication design graduate from National Institute of Design (NID) with a specialization in Animation Film Design. He also holds a BSc (Physics) degree from Calicut university. His other interests include Photography, digital cinematography and digital film making.
Srinivas Mohan is a highly experienced and acclaimed Visual Effects director. He is the CEO of the visual effects company, INDIAN ARTISTS Computer Graphics Pvt. Ltd. which has won 2 National Awards for Visual Effects for the films Magic Magic in the 2003 and for Sivaji – The Boss in the 2007. He has supervised the path breaking Visual Effects in 2010’s Blockbuster film Endhiran in Tamil and Robot in Hindi.
